We’re on day three of sort save splurge and it should be a quick one. If you keep medication and supplements all over the place (ahem, guilty), put them in one large pile and go through and check expiration dates. If you happen to have a bunch of random supplements that you never ever use (ahem, guilty again), go ahead an start taking them or toss them. Just be sure you’re really going to take them if they’re staying. No excuses! Wipe down shelves and put the unexpired items back in some sort of organized matter.
We keep our meds on the top shelf of our linen closet where little hands can’t reach by climbing. The ones that we’re really concerned about kids getting or that don’t have child safety caps go in a childproof box. The rest are in little bins I found in the dollar section of Target years ago. I have them sorted by kid medications, first aid supplies, and cough/cold/allergy. Find a system that works best for you.
Be sure to properly dispose of medications. I fairly certain most pharmacies will take them, but double check. I found this disposal facility locator online and that might help if you’re uncertain.
