Day 17 and we’re going to tackle all your craft and hobby supplies. If you go crazy in Michaels or Hobby Lobby, this one’s going to be kinda painful. The hardest thing when it comes to these items is the “what if I need it later” mentality. I totally understand. I really do.
Pull out everything. All of it. When was the last time you used it? Do you honestly see yourself using it again within the next year? After you’ve sorted your piles, put everything away nicely and make a note of the date so you know what needs to go next year.
I got rid of a couple boxes worth of crafting materials before we moved to San Diego and I was still able to fill half a trash bag with stuff. I’ve also told myself that I WILL NOT go to any craft stores this year so my stash of supplies doesn’t start growing again.
I will admit that I have a very difficult time getting rid of fabric and I have A LOT. Quilting has a way of creating enormous fabric stashes. It’s amazing and frightening at the same time. I’m also not buying anymore fabric this year until I get the four quilt tops I finished to a long arm… Which will probably cost $$$. Btw, anyone know of a good long arm quilter in San Diego?
What kind of craft supplies do you hoard?
