This post was supposed to go up in the morning, but I didn’t notice that it missed it’s scheduled post time. Second time this week. Get it together WP!
Day 10 and we’re a third of the way through the sort save splurge challenge! Today we’re going to tackle the master bedroom nightstands and under the bed. Empty drawers and surfaces, clean everything and put things away. Only keep the absolute necessities on your nightstands. Nothing else.
If you’re bed is free of clutter underneath, I applaud you. I’m about to throw my husband under the bus here. Sorry P, it must be done. He used to put so much stuff under his side of the bed. Books, shoes, luggage, water bottles… drove me batty. Did I mention that we have a platform bed? If it went under, you didn’t see it again for at least six months. He doesn’t do it very often anymore. Hallelujah.
I don’t like putting anything under the bed. Ever. My mom always said it was bad feng shui, but I’m pretty sure she said that because she was terrified of what she might find. Plus if you have all that stuff, where are you going to hide when things go bump in the night? Just kidding… Sort of.
I know some folks with limited storage space use under bed roller bins that work well at keeping things organized. If you think that might be a way for you to maximize your space, give it a go, but not until the month is up. No unnecessary purchases until the month is up and that includes organizing supplies. See if you really need it once the challenge is over. You might be surprised that you don’t actual need five dozen bins.
