Ack!!! I finally finished V’s room. It’s very pink and she’s smitten with it. I’ve had all the supplies for MONTHS now. Thankfully I didn’t need to buy anything, I just needed to get it done. Her dressers took me two months to finish because I hated the way it looked the first time around and stripped it down and started all over. The art canvas was repurposed from her 3rd birthday party crayon art. I moved the large antique dresser to the dining room and the small nightstand is now a side table in our living room.
Here is the link for the inspiration post if you want to compare what I had in mind for this room vs. the final outcome. And here is the before and after:
Her room ended up being slightly more pink compared the inspiration board because:
A) I didn’t have blue linen for the dresser.
B) I’m not spending any extra money on decor stuff because of Sort Save Splurge.
C) V gets bloody noses in the winter if we don’t run the humidifier and the turquoise pom pom pillow was a casualty. I’m thinking about replacing it with a different pillow in chartreuse or with this gold bow pillow.
V’s room is teeny tiny. It’s roughly 10 x 11, so it has just enough room for her bed and two Ikea rasts that also function as her nightstands. Toys are kept in the loft/playroom and her basket of books are kept in her closet. Downsizing her bed to something smaller isn’t an option because her room serves as the guest room when we have visitors.
Less talk, more pictures. Links to the room details are at the bottom.
Dressers/Nightstands – Ikea Rast hack. Painted with white enamel, used this overlay kit from O’verlays, and 1″ glass pulls from House of Antique Hardware. I also modge podged pink linen into the center of each drawer before using liquid nails to adhere the overlays.
