Peppermint instantly makes me think of Christmas. I love the smell of mint mixed with citrus year round, but there is something about pure peppermint that has me dreaming of decorated trees and cozy fires. This peppermint sea salt scrub is the perfect DIY gift idea for you crafty folks. I specifically love it as a sudsy foot scrub and it also opens up the airways when the hot water mixes with the cubes. I call it a twofer.
Wholesale Supplies Plus sent me this Peppermint Salt Scrub Cube Kit and I instantly thought that this would be the perfect DIY holiday gift. They could be party favors (that’s what I did) or stocking stuffers. Or maybe you could gift the entire set to a crafty lady.
The kit came with all the goodies below plus the containers. It has everything you could possibly need to make them gift ready except for the ribbon.
I melted the three butter soap base and foaming bath whip until it was soupy. Then I removed it from the heat and added the peppermint stick oil, sea salt, and color. I went a little heavy handed on the red and turned it hot pink by accident, but it worked out since I was using it for a baby shower. You might want to lay off the red unless bright pink is your jam.
I poured the mixture into a parchment paper lined jelly roll pan, sprayed it with some alcohol to get rid of the surface bubbles and let it set for a few hours.
I pulled the mixture out of the jelly roll pan and trimmed all the sides so they would be nice and straight. I then scored lines as a guide for my shaper knife. I made 1 inch cubes and even had extra after I put all the cubes into the twelve jars. Win!
I’ve already used one cube for myself, but I’ve got a feeling this peppermint sea salt scrub will come in handy whenever I have a cold. Warm shower, smooth feet and open sinuses? Bring it!
