We decided to go to Legoland California the day after we went to Soda & Swine and Disney on Ice. It was a last-minute decision, but we still had hopper tickets that we needed to use before they expired.
This was our second time going to Legoland and we have plans to go again next month. We’ve been to several amusement parks with the kids, but Legoland has been the best park for our (young) children.
Also, they did a great job with landscaping and designing the park, lots of shade and seating.
Although our 5-year-old can ride every attraction with an adult, our 3-year-old was a few inches too short for several rides, even with an adult. Thankfully, there are many other rides and activities that make up for it.

Land of Adventure
If your kids are older than ours, then they’ll probably love Castle Hill and Imagination Zone.
Sea Life Aquarium
Fun Town Market
You can get burgers and hot dogs, but we prefer eating at Fun Town Market. Dishes made to order, they have soup and salad options and ample shaded tables outside. Knights Smokehouse has a really good pulled pork sandwich if you’re into bbq. High chairs are easy to find and there are kid meal kits at both restaurants.
Tips for Legoland
- Bring your own water bottle (fill up at restaurants).
- Ditch the stroller if you can (small park). Our 3 yr old preferred walking.
- If you have smaller children (5 and under), turn left after entering the park.
- Trade in your Lego characters at the park entrance.
- End the day at the aquarium to avoid crowds.
