Not going to lie… I’m addicted to making soap. I’m pretty sure we have more bars of soap in this house than one family could possible use in a year and that’s after I’ve gifted over fifty bars. Now my husband just shakes his head is disapproval when he sees me whipping up another batch and says “You’re such a craft crazy mom” (emphasis on crazy). Yes. Yes I am.
I had a couple hours to kill while the laundry was running and the dishwasher was humming. I figured I should probably do something with the leftover white melt and pour soap from my Oatmeal Scrubby Soap post and the colors from my Tub Paints post.
The process is simple.
1. Melt 1/2 a pound of white melt and pour soap. Add 20 drops of yellow soap coloring (more if you want a brighter color…but not too much). Add any fragrance or essential oils if wanted.
2. Pour half of your yellow soap mix into a silicon soap mold. You can find the one I used {HERE}.
3. Add 5 drops of red soap coloring to the remaining yellow soap mix. Stir and pour into your mold once the yellow has partially set (about 10 minutes). You may need to remelt your orange mix if you’re melting it in the microwave and not using the double broiler method.
4. Melt 1/4 lb of white melt and pour soap and pour on top of partially set orange soap layer.
5. Let it set until 100% solid (about 2-3 hrs) and pop out of the mold carefully.
These would make adorable party favors for an adult Halloween party. Or you can make mini ones and package them as alternatives to sweet for the kiddos coming to your door this Halloween. They may be PO’d about it, but I’m sure their parents would appreciate the handmade goodies.
BTW, what are you handing out to trick-or-treaters? I hate the thought of sweets, but stumped on cheap alternatives.

Funny, my husband wants me to learn how to make soap. But with so many other projects I am afraid I will get overwhelmed. Beautiful soaps by the way!! This post has inspired me to try it.

Soap is super easy to make! Cold press is a little tricky with the lye, but it’s a lot of fun.
