Easy Korean Beef Marinade
Prep time
Total time
This basic Korean beef marinade is quick and easy. Perfect base for bulgogi, kalbi and more.
Recipe type: Condiment
Cuisine: Korean
  • ¾ cups reduced sodium soy sauce
  • ½ cup light brown sugar (packed)
  • ⅛ cup dry white wine or rice wine (chardonnay works well)
  • 6 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 teaspoons roasted sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  1. Stir ingredients until brown sugar is dissolved.
  2. Add marinade to beef and let it sit in the fridge at least 24 hours.
I highly suggest you marinate beef at least 24 hours. It will take at least that long for the wine to break down the proteins that can make beef chewy and tough. The longer it marinates, the more tender the beef will be.
