Storage Bin Overload

I’ve been getting a jump start on my New Year’s resolution to get more organized in a big way, I talked about those resolutions {here}. I’ve been clearing the clutter like a mad woman. So far we’ve donated two large garbage bags filled with clothes to Goodwill, boxed & stored all baby related items, and started organizing the closets. That means bins, bins, and more bins.

I couldn’t find the exact style that I purchased from the dollar section of Tar-jay, but it’s pretty darn close to the one pictured above. My husband was convinced I wasn’t going to use all the bins I purchased, but love hate to say ‘I told you so’.

We used the grey and black bins for our living room that doubles as my daughters play room. We organized all her toys and put them in the appropriately labeled bins. Clean up is such a cinch now that everything has it’s place. We still have a couple overflow bins filled with mini hockey sticks, toy strollers, and junk toys that Vanessa still likes to play with.

The hall closet houses a few more bins, but that “special” place is still a work in progress and would mortify me if I showed it on the internet. Nuff said.

We used the hot pink bins for the munchkin’s room and most of them house snowboarding paraphernalia, blankets, and seasonal items we rarely ever use in Monterey.
We chose to use the teal bins for the master bedroom to match the new no sew curtains I just put up in there. They house hats, accessories, purses, hockey jerseys, and the list goes on.
I’m really wanting to put chalkboard tags with snazzy ribbon on the bins in both the bedrooms. A possible weekend project? I think so!

Anyone else organizing their homes for 2012? I’d love to see your ideas!
