We’re on day 6 of sort save splurge and it should be an easy one unless you happen to be a YouTube beauty guru. In that case, go on with your bad self. Gather up all your makeup, grooming supplies and toiletries. I’m not naming names, but… If you have a husband that has ten too many hair styling products or five different deodorants, encourage him to do the same. Go through and get rid of what you don’t use.
For those of you who don’t know me in real life, I like makeup. Expensive makeup. So, it hurts my heart to get rid of stuff, but it has to be done. No reason to keep a mascara that I haven’t used in a year because it makes me look like a raccoon or foundation that makes me an oompa loompa. I’m also the queen of samples, so I got rid of the ones I knew I would not try.
I’m lucky (or possibly crazy) that I don’t buy very many hair products. That just means I rock the mom pony (with a side of Irish frizz) way more often than I should. But I did get rid of some terrible shampoo, conditioner and body wash that I’ve been keeping for no real reason. Emergency backup? Probably not. It’s that pesky guilt/what if I need it mindset that has me holding on to stuff I don’t like.
All said and done I only got rid of a small grocery bag of stuff, but remember, every little bit counts!
