There have been a couple requests for newborn photography tips after my post announcing that I was doing a Project 52 for my kiddos. Although I’ve only been doing paid client work for about two years, maternity and newborn photography are my favorite niches. I’m still trying nail down my style and workflow, BUT I do have a few links for those of you looking for some great resources to help you get started.
1. CMPro Breakout Session: Newborns with Jenni Jones
via : clickinmoms
I bought this breakout session as soon as it went live. SO GOOD! Love it and could not stop going through the material that same night. Her prop prep video and editing videos are my favorite. Worth every single penny. The breakout will still be available after the 21st, you just won’t be able to ask Jenni questions about the materials in the forums. I highly suggest getting a Clickin Moms membership (<–affiliate link) if you don’t already have one.
I wanted to do the full participation for this workshop, but I don’t have any newborns I can practice on that week and my oldest will be out of school at the end of the month. The scheduling just didn’t work out for me, but I’ve heard so many amazing things about this workshop. If you can afford the full participation class, I’d totally go for it. You can also do the study along for half the price if full participation is a problem.
Courtney must have been reading my mind. Alicia Gould is guest posting with some awesome tips for prepping parents for newborn sessions.
This is my current favorite free resource. I’m a very visual learner and her videos show how she does certain poses and wrapping from start to finish. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE her videos. Her website TAoPaN (The Art of Pregnancy and Newborns) is also a great resource and community for both photographers and moms to be.
Do you have any other resources that have helped you?
