Moving every two years means we send out a lot of moving announcements. The last one was a magnet and I loved it. Well, I loved it in theory. I’m sure not all of our family and friends wanted a picture of our faces plastered on their fridge. Then there is the whole address right next to our picture. Not exactly the smartest decision when it comes to personal security. I’m not saying our loved ones have sketchy house guests. I’m just saying that you never know.
Since we already know our address, I’m getting a head start on our moving announcements and even ordered the cutest custom address stamp from The Yellow Note.
I found a bunch of adorable moving announcements on Etsy, but decided to go with something else after factoring in cost of printing and shipping on top of the custom design.
I opted to go the Minted.com route after factoring in how many announcements I needed to mail out (not many) and quality. Since we’re not mailing out a bunch, I wanted better quality card stock. It took me awhile to figure out which announcements to order, but I narrowed it down to these three choices a few days ago.
I’m not sure why I’m drawn to the square announcements so much. Although the photographer in me LOVES the idea of having our pictures on the cards, I’m a little apprehensive about having our address right next to a picture of the kids. Our last moving announcement had a PO box because we were living overseas, so I wasn’t as worried about it. Maybe I’ll save the picture cards for Christmas?
Since having a picture on the card is out, I decided with option number 2. I may or may not have put a Ron Burgundy quote on it instead of our phone number. I already see our siblings trying to explain who Ron Burgundy is to our parents.
We will be in San Diego next week. Yay! I swear this feels like the longest move in the history of moves. Maybe its the fact that we are house camping. Or maybe it’s because our air mattress got a hole in it and we woke up sleeping on the tile. Or monsoon season….. So many reasons! Either way, we’re going back to Cali!
