Life Lately | New Shop

I have been feeling a huge sense of relief since telling you all that I’m moving this blog in a new direction. Big changes for big dreams can be scary and exciting at the same time. I feel like there is SOOOO much I want to do and share (and I will), but I’m trying to get all my little duckies in a row. Part of that has been updating my new shop on Society6. (Free shipping + $5 off through March 9th by clicking HERE) Still a work in progress, but at least it’s progress. Thinking about having a shop on my page instead of just using Society6. Thoughts?

On Monday I headed over to the flower market with baby E in tow. So many flowers. I’ll have to take a picture for you the next time I go. I went  knowing exactly what I wanted. Pink peonies. Sure…. its not the right season for peonies, but I had a vision. That vision was instantly squashed when I couldn’t find a single stem. Not one.

I did find some beautiful cabbage roses, but there were pricey. Thankfully that same vendor sold the most gorgeous ranunculus stems in shades of cream and pink. I was sold. I walked out with 3 bunches of ranunculus and 2 sad looking bunches of anemones just for fun. These are a few of the shots I came up with.

I still had an hour before I needed to go pick up V, so I made myself a little bouquet. I remember when I was planning my wedding, that I specifically wanted blush ranunculus, white anemones, and big fluffy peonies. My florist said it wasn’t possible in December, so I stuck with an all white bouquet. Thankfully this  pretty bouquet sort of fills those dreams and now sits in my foyer. In fact, I can see it from my desk right now. I love it.

I had to get E up from his nap and loaded up in the car shortly after I finished taking photos. V had a really great first day back at school and special requested cheeseburgers for lunch. So cheeseburgers they got. A little rare fast food treat. I’m not sure how it’s possible, but she’s able to eat two easily. Baby boy finished his in record time as usual. Boy can eat.

It’s time for me to sign off. Lately, the little guy has started throwing mini tantrums whenever he wakes up from a nap. I blame the crabiness on cutting incisors and molars. Either way, he’s not happy and I have to go.

Hi Maria, your blog is amazing, love the new look as well :) I honestly don’t know how you do this, with 2 toddlers and all?? I’ve got a 6 months old adorable little munchkin, studying photography at the moment and hoping to start the business by Autumn but have no idea whether i will be able to pull it off, there’s just not enough time, even with my husband spending an hour almost each evening with him while I’m frantically studying online.. but then I look at you and think “Man! This girl has got 2 kids, a photography business, a blog, and she’s crafting, too!” Hats off to you, Maria and thanks for the ton of inspiration

Thank you Julia, but I can in no way take credit for being able to juggle it all. My husband watches the kids on the weekends while I do sessions and I usually edit, blog, or craft while my oldest is in preschool. Sometimes my husband will come home from work, cook dinner, do dishes and get the kids in bed so I can get work done. We have at least 4 planners between the two of us, so everything gets scheduled. It does get easier as the kids get older, but husband deserves all the applause :)

He certainly does! :) i am lucky to have a husband that helps a lot as well, maybe I’m just over thinking and over complicating it all in my mind before i actually start a business.. and you’re right, it does get easier when the kids grow older :)
