Kicking off a New Year

Getting started on your New Year’s resolutions is a little difficult when your home is in California and you’re visiting family in Florida. I made a lame excuse for a list on January 1st, but decided to dive into detail last night. I feel pretty good about it and wanted to share.

-Commit to weekly date nights, no excuses.
-Take overnight trips sans munchkin whenever we can.
-Remember to say ‘I love you’ every single day.

-Hit the gym 4 days a week.
-Bike with the family (10+ miles) at least once a week.
-Eat a fruit & veggie at every single meal.
-Cut out all processed foods.
-Remember to drink 8 glasses of water a day. (Tough one for me. TERRIBLE, I know.)

-Always remember that ‘patience is a virtue’.
-Create new & fun activities weekly.
-Encourage reading. Read at least 2 books a day.
-Say ‘I love you’ everyday, even when she’s throwing tantrums, biting, or eating dog food… *sigh*

-Don’t be afraid of taking risks.
-Remember to take time for myself, even if it’s just 15 minutes of quiet time.
-Write ‘thank you’ cards in a timely fashion. (ugh, so bad about this)
-Take a sewing class.

-Treat myself to pampering once a month, even if it’s something small.

-Pre-write entries for the next week.
-No less than 3 entries a week, strive for five!
-Respond to all comments and questions.
I hope all of you are having an amazing start to 2012. I’ll be back with my regular “schedule” of new projects next week. See you soon!

Good luck to you! You can teach yourself how to sew with youtube, that is how I learned. I might not know all the fancy sewing lingo and might take a long time figuring out patterns, but I can do it!
