Philip, Vanessa and I just got back from the doctor’s office with some amazing news. Baby #2 is VERY big. I’m measuring a couple weeks ahead and so is the baby. Our doctor wants to hold off on reassessing the due date until the next ultrasound. I’m supposed to be 21 weeks today, but the baby is measuring around 23 weeks in head circumference, height, and weight. The little chunker is already over a pound! If the due date isn’t changed, it looks like I’ll be delivering a very large baby since it’s already well over the 90th percentile.
So far I’ve gained 12 lbs and I’m pretty happy with that number. I’ve been eating tomatoes like a champ and have been craving sardines with mustard. Bizarre craving, I know. I had low vitamin D before this pregnancy and my body is probably in need of more of it now that the baby is getting bigger. I guess sardines are filling my body’s need for both vitamin D and calcium.
Blood pressure is still on the low end (92/52) even after chasing a toddler down the hallway, but the dizziness has been gone for awhile. Also, no progesterone shots and the amniotic levels are looking very good. Extremely grateful for a much smoother pregnancy!
Now on the the good stuff. The big gender reveal! We’ve been dying to know whether we’d be having a girl or a boy this time around and baby #2 had zero problem with showing the goods during the ultrasound.
We’re so very excited to announce that we are having a BOY this winter!
We are so excited to be starting a new adventure with a little boy. If he’s anything like his big sister, then I’ll be one VERY busy mom. Snips and snails, and puppy dog tails! Can’t wait to meet the handsome little fellow!
