Thankfully, I’m not falling apart. It’s the house, to do lists, and projects that have fallen by the way side this last month or so. I have the first trimester to thank for that. Although the constant nausea, headaches, low blood pressure and morning sickness have pretty much dissipated, I have a new, slightly more mortifying symptom. Spontaneous morning sickness. Which means I get about a 5 second warning before getting sick, which has led me to get sick… in public. I’ve had some close calls in both the car and an incident involving the munchkin. Needless to say, I’m not impressed and I’m looking forward to the day when I don’t have to worry about whether or not I brought a “barf bag” with me to Target.
Although this pregnancy hasn’t been all rainbows and butterflies (so far), I know that things are going to be getting better soon and I have a lot to look forward to. This means planning and sewing new crib bedding, finding the perfect nursery accessories and finishing up the guest room, which will be Vanessa’s new “big” girl room. I’ve been dreaming about color combinations and fabrics and can’t wait to find out the gender so I can’t start putting things together.
For those of you who follow me on Facebook, you know that I mentioned finishing up a quilt, which also happens to by my first sewing adventure. Well, last night I discovered a few major hiccups that needed to be fixed before any type of batting or thought of finishing came up. It’s all about the learning process and next time I’ll know not to make the same mistakes, but I did want to at least give you a hint about what the finished product will look like. Think chevron & ombre. It’s pretty fantastic and I’m smitten. Can’t wait to share it with you for real, but it’ll have to wait until my next sewing lesson.
No post is complete without a picture. So just a peak of why I’m having severe mommy guilt over not being able to keep up with my toddler and Philip making up for it.
Until next time, happy crafting!
