There is so much buzz going around the blogosphere about the disappearance of GFC. Sad stuff I tell you. Wordpress users are getting hit in just a couple days and that means my Google Reader will be missing a lot of my favorite blogs. That just stinks because there are a ton of great blogs powered by WordPress.
I do like the Linky Followers widget, don’t get me wrong. It’s really starting to catch on, but as a writer it’s kind of a pain. I’ve noticed that it doesn’t automatically update my posts and that I need to do it manually. Honestly for someone who posts 4-5 times per week with a toddler, a house full of dishes and laundry to be done, and is overjoyed when she can sneak a shower in during nap time, this can be a bummer.
I’ve discovered something that is just as user friendly as Google Reader, enter Bloglovin my friends. It lets you install a little gadget into your browsers toolbar that automatically goes to the site to read your favorite blogs. Bonus is that you can add any blog to your reader list. If the blog doesn’t use LF or GFC, no biggie. Just type in their url, add them to your list of favorite blogs and voila! They’re in your reading list. Bonus points is that updates automatically, shows an image from you post AND it has the first few lines from your post for the readers. Pure awesomeness, right? Right.
Don’t worry faithful LF and GFC friends! I won’t be giving up GFC until the bitter end and LF is great, but don’t worry if it says I haven’t posting in weeks. It’s not true, it just means I’m too lazy to manually update my feed everyday.
So for those of you who really love your Google reader as much as I do and are looking for something similar, I totally recommend you give Bloglovin a try. If you’d still like to keep up with the happenings of Craft Crazy Mom, but Bloglovin just isn’t your thing. You can always follow me through Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, RSS or by entering in your email on my sidebar.
Want to go ahead and start following yours truly on Bloglovin? Follow my blog with Bloglovin to get started. A blog post is never complete without a picture so here’s one of my cherub laughing hysterically at three months old to make you feel all warm and fuzzy. Photo by Ethan’s Heart Photography.
